Pursuing graduate school in mathematics as a CSUMB math department graduate

Going onto graduate school is an exciting but often a scary jump in one’s life. Upon making my decision to continue in mathematics as a CSUMB graduate, I can remember the feeling of excitement, uncertainty, and above all the most common questions that would frequent my mind. How will it differ from my undergraduate studies? Am I prepared for graduate mathematics? Do I really enjoy mathematics enough to commit to such a program? In this talk, I will share my answers to these questions (and more) through my experiences while in the Master of Science program in mathematics at Portland State University. In addition, we will discuss the joys and benefits of continuing on to a graduate program in mathematics.
